We had a really positive experience with Citizens Advice, especially thanks to Doreen. She was very patient, kind and understanding, and listened carefully to everything we had to say. She was quick and efficient, checked into other things that could help us, and was proactive in making sure we had the right information and support. She was genuinely very helpful and made the whole process much easier for us. We really appreciate all the help and time she gave us.

visited the Glasgow Central Citizens Advice Bureau last Friday, arriving at 1:05 p.m., as their website states they operate from 1 to 1:30. Despite this, I was told I needed to come exactly at 1. They asked me to return on Monday at 1, which I did. But on Monday, others were already ahead of me, and the staff said they only take around 10 people. Another staff member told me I should have come before 1, contradicting both the website and what I was told on Friday. When I called for clarity, they said no information could be given over the phone. If capacity is so limited, they must either offer appointments or make their capacity clear. People pay for expensive parking—£14 for three hours—rearrange work, leave studies, find babysitters, and rely on public transport. This lack of coordination wastes time and money. They need consistent staff guidance aligned with the website and a more reliable system. Why put people in a position to fight over a line? This approach is unprofessional and doesn’t reflect well. A fair, organised system would treat everyone respectfully.
