I highly recommend Coventry Citizens Advice! I received incredible support from a male advisor regarding a stressful NHS dental penalty charge. I don't know his name, but he was exceptionally polite, professional, and worked so hard on my case until the penalty was completely cancelled. This service makes a massive difference in our community. Thank you so much to him and the whole team!
I am very disappointed with my experience at Citizens Advice Coventry. Ten days ago, I visited the office early morning and requested an appointment. I was told that my details would be registered and that I would receive a phone call, but I was not given any indication of when that call would take place. A week later, I received a call on Friday, 5 June, at 9:37 a.m. Unfortunately, I was driving at the time and could not answer. I then spent the rest of the day trying to call back, but nobody answered. On one occasion, the line was connected and I could clearly hear staff talking in the background, yet nobody responded despite my repeated attempts to say hello. The second call came on Wednesday, 10 June, at 11:25 a.m. My phone was temporarily out of reach, and by the time I got to it, the call had ended. I called back and was told that someone would contact me shortly. About 30 minutes later, I received another call and was informed that my case had been closed because I had allegedly failed to answer three calls. This was surprising and frustrating because I only missed two calls, not three. When I challenged this, I was told that their records showed three missed calls. I do not believe this is accurate. Any manager or supervisor should be able to verify the call records and confirm exactly how many times contact was attempted. Citizens Advice exists to support people who are often facing difficult situations and need guidance. For that reason, I would expect a more understanding, transparent, and professional approach. Closing a case after two missed calls, especially when a client has actively tried to return those calls, does not reflect good customer service. I hope this feedback is taken seriously and that procedures are reviewed to ensure people seeking help are treated fairly and respectfully.
Went there today, receptionist was fantastic, my advisor however, imagine waiting for an hour to be told by the advisor to go to ombudsman’s, she was rude too, telling me to quiet down, I know how to read and write I could’ve done that without wasting my time or someone else’s time who needed it more than me…
